•.°af i i i Article 12 To see if the Town will vote to create a full-time Human Services Coordinator under the Massachusetts Laborers' District Council Contract, Unit B, for the Board of Health and further to raise and appropriate or transfer from available funds $46,551 with said funds to be distributed as follows: $38,612 to the Board of Health Salary/Wage Account, $7,344 to the Medical Insurance Account, $560 to the Medicare Account and $35 to the Group Insurance Account, or take any other action relating thereto. Submitted by the Board of Health and Human Services Committee Explanation: This position has been in existence for two years under contractual agreement with Falmouth Human Services. When the Mashpee Human Services Department was created under the supervisory authority of the Board of Health, a contractual framework appeared to be in the best interest of the Town. Bringing the department directly under the Board of Health will eliminate a now unnecessary layer of administration. With increasing requests for human service needs, the Board of Health recommends that this important position now be included directly under the Board of Health with one qualified person in a position to supervise, coordinate, review and monitor the activities of the more than dozen human service agencies which are under contract with the Town, as well as provide direct counseling services and respond to critical human service needs of Mashpee residents. Recommendation: The Finance Committee recommends approval. I Motion made by Selectman Cahalane. Motion: I move the Town vote to create a full-time Human Services Coordinator position under the Massachusetts Laborers' District Council Contract, Unit B, for the Board of Health, and further, the Town vote to raise and appropriate $46,551 with said funds to be distributed as follows: $38,612 to the Board of Health Salary/Wage Account, $7,344 to the Medical Insurance Account, $560 to the Medicare Account, and $35, to the Group Insurance Account. Motion passes unanimously at 10:00 p.m. Motion made to extend Town Meeting until 10:30 p.m. Motion to extend Town Meeting until 10:30 p.m. passes at 10:01 p.m. Article 13 To see if the Town will vote to create a full-time Senior Clerk position under the Clerical k Contract, Grade II, Step I for the Council on Aging and further to see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate or transfer from available funds $27,934 with said funds to be distributed as follows: $20,261 in salary, $7,344 to the Medical Insurance Account, $294 to the Medicare Account, and $35 to the Group Insurance Account, or take any other action relating thereto.
