Explanation: The 2000 Annual Town Report in which the reports of Town officers are <br /> presented is available at the Town Meeting and at the Town Hall. <br /> Motion made by Kenneth Marsters. <br /> Motion: I move the Town vote to accept the reports of the town officers. <br /> i <br /> Motion passes unanimously at 7:52 p.m. <br /> Article 3 p <br /> To see if the Town will vote to create a Human Services Department, to be operated by the <br /> existing Human Services Coordinator, and to designate the Human Services Committee <br /> established pursuant to the vote under Article 29 of the May 6, 1996 Town Meeting to serve as <br /> an advisory committee to the Department, and be appointed by the Board of Selectmen, or take <br /> any other action relating thereto. ' <br /> Submitted by the Board of Selectmen <br /> Explanation: Two years ago the Human Services office was created and continues to be <br /> managed under the direction of the Board of Health. Our community continues to grow at an <br /> ever-increasing rate. Along with that growth comes an increase in human service needs. To <br /> better serve our community, a separate Human Services department is proposed. This <br /> department will continue to coordinate, review and monitor the activities of the 15 human service <br /> agencies which are under contract with the Town, as well as provide counseling services and <br /> collaboration with town departments, agencies, schools and community groups. <br /> Recommendation: The Finance Committee recommends approval. <br /> Motion made by John Cahalane. <br /> Motion: I move Article 3 be voted as printed in the warrant with the exception of the phrase, "or <br /> take any other action relating thereto". <br /> Motion passes unanimously at 7:54 p.m. <br /> Article 4 <br /> To see if the Town will fix the salaries of the following elected officers as provided in Chapter <br /> 41, Section 108, of the Mass. General Laws for the Period of July 1, 2001 to June 30, 2002, and <br /> further to see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate and transfer a sum of money to defray <br /> the Town's expenses for the ensuing fiscal year according to the following line item budget with <br /> the maximum amount to be appropriated as shown in the column entitled "Dept.
