ROWLEY & ASSOCIATES <br /> eiad Fnq&ne and cSuweyon <br /> 2229 CRANBERRY HIGHWAY WEST WAREHAM,MASSACHUSETTS 02576 TELEPHONE 2950545 <br /> February 5, 1986 <br /> Town of Mashpee Planning Board <br /> Town Hall <br /> Mashpee, MA 02649 Re: Winslow Cape Realty Trust, <br /> Paderborn Corp. , Old Barn- <br /> stable Road <br /> Dear Board Members: <br /> On Monday of this week I met with Ernest Virgilio, Superin- <br /> tendant of Streets, to discuss the construction of Old Barnstable <br /> Road as it relates to the above referenced subdivision and cluster <br /> plans. You will recall that I was to review what improvements <br /> might be necessary along Old Barnstable Road in order to accomo- <br /> date the anticipated increase in traffic. <br /> Since my last visit to the site, much clearing and slope grading <br /> has been done on the southerly side of Old Barnstable Road by the <br /> developers of the Paderborn project. The work done to date has im— <br /> proved the visibility greatly and has reduced the potential hazz— <br /> ards to traffic at the proposed intersections which will serve <br /> that development. <br /> Mr. Virgilio and I visited the site and inspected Old Barnstable ~ <br /> Road from the Commonwealth Electric easement south of the Winslow <br /> Cape project to Childs River. Three items would be required for <br /> further improvements along the road in order to satisfy traffic <br /> safety. <br /> 1. Install, as part of the Ashumet Road/Old Barnstable Road <br /> improvements, catch basins and related pipe to relieve a <br /> drainage problem at that intersection. Water should be piped <br /> to the large hole which exists on the northerly side of Old <br /> Barnstable Road. <br /> 2. A similar situation exists along Old Barnstable Road near the <br /> road opening between lots 3 and 14 on the Paderborn plan. Again <br /> X this storm water should be piped to the low area which makes <br /> up the open space to the rear of lots 78 and 79 on the Winslow <br /> Cape Realty plan. <br /> 3. The bank which exists on the northerly side of Old Barnstable <br /> Road near lots 53, 50 and 49 should be cut back, lowered and <br /> regraded similar to that which has been done on the other side <br /> of the road. This will improve still further the site distance <br /> along Old Barnstable Road and make for a better intersection <br /> with proposed Childs River Road. <br /> L_ 1. <br />
