It was represented that the entire project was to be utilized
for low and moderate elderly housing.
The Board made the following findings: We can establish
that there is a need for subsidized low-income housing for the elderly
and disabled persons in the Town of Mashpee based upon the data
presented at the hearing. The financing of this project is from
State agencies. Evidence presented at the hearing shows that the
applicant has made an attempt to comply with the Zoning Bylaws of
the Town of Mashpee, and the applicant appears to be proposing
quality-style housing on the property.
At the hearing, a motion was made to grant a Comprehensive
Permit for low- and moderate-income housing under Massachusetts General
Laws, Chapter 40B, and for funds to be provided by the Commonwealth
of Massachusetts under Chapter 667, Housing for the Elderly and
Disabled, with the following conditions:
1. That the entire project and all of the units be made
available only for the elderly and disabled of low- and
moderate-income.
2. That this project comply with the Town of Mashpee Bylaw
4.6.6, which provides for heat detection, tenant notification, and
alarm monitoring in the event of fire.
3. The Mashpee Housing Authority is required to cooperate
with all local and state boards or committees for placing residents
of the Town of Mashpee in the elderly and disabled units.
-5-
