MINUTES June 8, 1988 7 BOARD OF APPEALS <br />' Attorney Kirraine stated the plans have been revised to 6'.signs showing <br />• 128.34 square feet and stated existing on property now are 7 signs at 138.57 <br />square feet. <br />Mr. Makunas questioned the height of the Shell sign. <br />Attorney Kirraine responded the bottom elevation of the sign will be <br />reduced to twelve feet. <br />Mr. Makunas questioned Attorney Kirraine as to the proposals for land- <br />scaping. <br />Attorney Kirraine informed the Board that there is low landscaping there <br />currently. <br />Mr. Makunas stated the landscaping is not adequate. <br />Mr. Boyd commented that the applicant has not consulted with the Design <br />Review Committee. <br />Mr. Makunas motioned to grant the SpecialiPermit as presented with re- <br />vised plans dated June 8, 1988 and initialed by William Hanrahan with the <br />stipulation the applicant consult with the Design Review Committee and com- <br />ply with recommendations on the landscaping, Mr. Hanrahan seconded, all agreed. <br />U.S. Trust (discussion) - Attorney Kirraine was in attendance for dis- <br />cussion on the revisions to landscaping plans. <br />• Mr. Kirraine stated he consulted with the Design Review Committee this <br />evening at which time they presented a permit from the D.P.W. relating to per- <br />forming landscaping work on the state property. He explained that any revisions <br />in the landscaping required approval from this Board as stipulated in the Special <br />Permit. <br />Attorney Kirraine stated they propose to eliminate the low lying four <br />foot high scrub pines (shown to the Board) to be replaced plum tree, which <br />was a request of the Design Review Committee. He explained remaining revi- <br />sions to the Board. <br />Mr. Hanrahan motioned to approve the landscaping revisions as presented <br />and stated these revisions are minor modifications to the Speical Permit granted <br />to Pine Tree Corners, Mr. Makunas seconded. <br />New Seabury Cor oration (discussion) - Mr. Christopher Burden was in <br />atten aance fort is iscussion. <br />Mr. Burden stated he is present this evening to discuss the continuation <br />of the New Seabury Special Permit which is scheduled on the Special Town Meeting <br />Warrant for June 27, 1988. He stated the purpose of continuing the overall <br />special permit for another twenty years is that the New Seabury Corp. feels <br />long term construction will result in better development of the New Seabury <br />Community and better flexibility in setback requirements than the present <br />• Town zoning by-laws. Mr. Burden stated the disadvantage from the Town's point <br />
