j. <br /> t <br /> Article 3 . 7 Reversion of Specific Appropriations to the <br /> General Fund <br /> i <br /> Section 3. 7. 1 Definitions : As used in this Article, the following j <br /> words shall have the following meaning : <br /> "General Appropriation" - Any appropriation made by <br /> Town Meeting which is not a specific appropriation <br /> within the meaning of this Article. I! ' ' <br /> "Specific Appropriation" - An appropriation made <br /> by the Town Meeting which is described within the �! <br /> vote making the appropriation as being "specific", <br /> and is otherwise a specific appropriation under the f <br /> law. <br /> i <br /> Section 3 . 7 . 2 Reversion of General Appropriations to the General <br /> Fund <br /> General appropriations made by the Town Meeting shall <br /> continue to revert to the general fund at the close <br /> of the fiscal year for which they are made, as <br /> provided by law. <br /> Section 3. 7. 3 Reversion of Specific A ro riations to the General j <br /> Fund ppm <br /> Unless otherwise provided n a vote of the Town Meeting <br /> making a specific appropriation, or unless a specific !I' <br /> appropriation has been encumbered by contractural <br /> obligations, specific appropriations shall have a normal <br /> life (of three 3) Years from the commencement of the <br /> fiscal year in which it was approved. At the end of <br /> the third fiscal year, any funds remaining in that <br /> appropriation shall revert to the general fund. A <br /> vote making a speciic appropriation may provide that <br /> the appropriation shall revert. to the general fund at <br /> the end of any fiscal year . <br /> Section 3. 7 .4 The Town may, at any time under a proper article in a <br /> warrant, extend the date on which a specific appropriation <br /> would otherwise revert to the general fund. <br /> Section 3. 7 . 5 The reversion of the balance of the funds in the specific <br /> appropriation account shall include any subsequent <br /> transfer of funds to the specific account which remain <br /> unexpended on the date of the reversion. <br /> Section 3. 7. 6 Nothing in this article shall be construed to affect <br /> the right of any creditor of the Town, regardless of <br /> the reversion of any appropriation to the general fund. <br /> (Amended at Annual Town Meeting May 3, 1982 and approved <br /> by Attorney General September 7, 1982 ) . <br /> Article 3. 8 Central Purchasing,. <br /> I <br /> Section 3. 8. 1Purchasing Agent The purchasing agent , as so designated <br /> by the Board. of Selectmen, may consolidate purchases <br /> by elected and appointed town officials of goods and <br /> services, if it is, in the opinion of the Board of <br /> X Selectmen, administratively and economically feasible <br /> to do so. (Amended at Annual Town Meeting May 3, 1982 <br /> and approved by Attorney General September 7, 1982) . <br /> 17. 2 - <br />
