<br />By the Board of Selectmen .
<br />of the Town of Mashpee, Massachusetts

<br />That permission be and, hereby is granted the NEW ENGLAND TELEPHONE AND TELE-
<br />GRAPH COMPANY to place and maintain buried cable, manholes, handholes, with the wires and cables
<br />therein, markers and other fixtures in or unde ?e surface of the following public way or ways, as requested
<br />in petition of said Company`dated they p,� 17th day of October, 19 52 .

<br />` . Also that permission be and hereby is granted said NEW ENGLAND TELEPHONE AND TELE-
<br />GRAPH COMPANY to place and maintain underground laterals, manholes, handholes, cables and wires in
<br />the above or intersecting public.ways for the purpose of making connections with such poles and buildings
<br />as it may desire for distributing purposes.
<br />The foregoing permission is subject to the following conditions:
<br />1. The laterals, manholes, handholes and markers shall be of such material and construction and all
<br />work done in such manner as to be satisfactory to such municipal officers as may be appointed to
<br />the supervision of the work, and a plan showing the location of buried cable laid shall be filed with
<br />the Town when the work is completed.
<br />2. Said Company shall file with the Town its agreement to indemnify and save the Town harmless
<br />against all damages, costs and expense whatsoever to which the Town may be subjected in con-
<br />sequence of the acts or neglect of said Company, its agents or servants, or in any manner arising
<br />from the rights and privileges granted it by the Town.
<br />3. In addition to such agreement, said Company shall before a public way is disturbed for the placing
<br />of its buried cable, execute its bond in a penal sum of Five Thousand Dollars (55,000) (reference
<br />being had to the bond already on file with said Town) conditioned for the faithful performance of
<br />said agreement and of its duties under this permit.
<br />4. Said Company shall comply with the requirements of existing by-laws and such as may hereafter
<br />be adopted governing the construction and maintenance of buried cable, conduits and wires so far
<br />as the same are not inconsistent with the laws of the Commonwealth.
<br />I hereby certify that the foregoing order was adopted at a meeting of the Board of Selectmen
<br />�of _the Town of Mashpee, Massachusetts, held on the 0 day of
