�r 4} <br /> BY-LAWS TOWN OF MASHPEE `• <br /> aiA= 1. TbwN GOVERMENT STRUCTURE <br /> Article 1.1 Town Meetings <br /> Section 1.1.1 Annual Town Meeting and Election. The Annual Town, Meeting for <br /> the appropriation of money and all other matters which shall <br /> properly come before it shall be held on the first Monday in <br /> May at 7:30 p.m. each year; and to' further provide that the <br /> election of Town Officers shall be held on the immediate <br /> following Saturday, at such place as the Selectmen may determine. <br /> The Selectmen may insert in the warrant for the Annual Meetings <br /> all articles and/or petitions signed by ten or more legal voters, <br /> which shall have been delivered to the Selectmen, or either of <br /> them, or the Town Clerk on, or before, the first Monday in <br /> February each year; but the Selectmen may insert in said <br /> warrant any article, or articles, received by them after said <br /> first Mxnday in February if, in their judgement, it is <br /> advisable to do so and whenever it is possible shall, before <br /> calling a Special Town Meeting, insert in a local newspaper a <br /> notice specifying the last day upon which articles to be <br /> inserted in the warrant for such meetings shall be presented <br /> to the Selectmen or Town Clerk. The warrant for the Annual <br /> Town Meeting shall also designate the Town Officers who are to <br /> be chosen by ballot and their respective terms of office. All <br /> articles submitted for inclusion in the warrant of any Town <br /> Meeting shall be printed or typewritten, in duplicate, and shall <br /> bear the name of the sponsors. <br /> (Amended at Special Town Meeting, October 27, 1982 and approved by <br /> the Attorney General January 11, 1983. ) <br /> Section 1.1.2 Quorum. Ten percent of the number of registered voters in the <br /> Town, as certified by the Town Clerk, shall constitute a quorum <br /> at any Annual Meeting. Five percent of the number of registered <br /> voters "11 constitute a quorum at any Special Town Meeting. <br /> Section 1.1.3 Warrant. Every Town Meeting, except as otherwise provided by law, <br /> shall be called in pursuance to a warrant. The warrant shall be <br /> directed to the Constable who shall forwith give notice at least <br /> fourteen days before such meeting by posting a copy of said warrant, <br /> one at the Town Hall and one at each of the Town bulletin boards; <br /> and by causing to be published in a newspaper of general circulation <br /> within the Town of Mashpee a copy of said warrant. <br /> (Amended at Annual Town Meeting May 7, 1984 and approved by <br /> Attorney General September 17, 10,84. ) <br /> y <br /> -1- <br /> 1: <br />
