TOWN HALL, MASHPEE, MASSACHUSETTS 02649
r•98 DECISION
Res Petition of Barnstable County National Bank Case #SP-82-4-006
A petition was filed by Barnstable County National Bank,
of Hyannis, Massachusetts for a Special Permit under Section 6.3
F-6, of the land Use Regulations for permission to construct a branch
bank with three drive-in lanes on property located on Routes 28 and 151,
New Seabury Shopping Center, Mashpee, Massachusetts.
Notice was duly given to abutters in accordance with
Massachusetts General Iaws, Chapter 40A. Notice was also given by
publishing in the Falmouth Enterprise, a newspaper of general circulation
in the Town of Mashpee on April 6, 1982, and April 13, 1982, a copy of
which is attached hereto and made a part hereof.
A public hearing was held on the petition at the Mashpee Town
Hall on Wednesday, April 21, 1982 at 7830 p.m. at which time the
following members of the Board of Appeals were present and acting
throughouts Raymond G. Sweeney, Michael Makunas, Peter Muse.
Mr. Steve Parkhurst and Mr. Howard Sears, representing
Barnstable County National Bank, made the presentation to the Board,
indicating that the purpose for the three drive-in lanes was to increase
the services of the bank.
The Board found that the use of the premises would not be
detrimental to the Town or area by reason of excessive traffic noise
or demand on community facilities. The Board also established that
granting the permit would be in the best interest of the community,
and would be in harmony with the general purpose and intent of the
ordanance on: By`=1aw.
