TOWN OF MASHPEE
BOARD OF APPEALS
TOWN HALL, MASHPEE, MASSACHUSETTS 02649
t'19B DECISION
RE: Petition of Philip Holmes for a Variance Case #V-87-01-001
A Petition was filed by Philip Holmes of Mashpee, Massachusetts
for a Variance for permission to vary the frontage requirements in a
I-1 Zoning District on property located on Lots 20 & 21 Bowdoin Road,
Mashpee, Massachusetts.
Notice was duly given to abutters in accordance with Massachu-
setts General Laws Chapter 40A. Notice was given by publication in
the Falmouth Enterprise, a newspaper of general circulation in the
Town of Mashpee on December 31, 1986 and January 9, 1987, a copy of
which is attached hereto and made a part hereof.
A public hearing was held on the petition at the Mashpee Town
Hall on Wednesday, January 14, 1987 at 7:30 p.m. at which time the
following members of the Board of Appeals were present and acting
throughout: William Hanrahan, Michael Makunas and Cheryl Hawver.
The Board was informed that when the lots were purchased they
were separate buildable lots. Information was received that zoning
requirements within the I-1 district have been ammended since the
land was purchased. The Board ascertained that owing to circum-
stances relating to the shape of the lot a hardship has been deter-
mined and established this request would not be a detriment to the
public good or substantially derogate from the intent or purpose of
the ordinance or by-law.
I
