TOWN OF MASHPEE <br /> BOARD OF APPEALS <br /> P. 0. BOX 1108 <br /> MASHPEE, MA 02649 <br /> DECISION <br /> RE: Petition of the Mashpee Housing Authority for a Comprehensive <br /> Permit under Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 40B for the purpose <br /> of constructing two housing projects for low- and moderate-income <br /> housing in the Town of Mashpee. One project is to construct three <br /> duplex family dwellings, for a total of six units, and the second <br /> project is to construct 24 elderly home units. Both projects have <br /> units to accommodate the handicapped .and disabled. Mashpee Board <br /> of Appeals No.SP-87-06-060. <br /> A Petition was filed by the Mashpee Housing Authority for <br /> two Comprehensive Permits seeking this Board's permission to construct <br /> and build two separate housing projects. . <br /> The decision will address each application separately. <br /> DECISION I <br /> The first project was seeking permission under Massachusetts <br /> General Laws, Chapter 40B - a Comprehensive Permit, to construct <br /> three two-family houses on a parcel of property containing <br /> approximately 6.2 acres, more or less. The property was located <br /> on Old Barnstable Road in. Mashpee and is presently owned by the Town <br /> of Mashpee. Mashpee Town Meeting vote authorized the transfer of <br /> this property by the Town of Mashpee to the Mashpee Housing Authority <br /> for the express purpose of building a low- and moderate-income housing <br /> development which would be utilized under Chapter 705, Housing for <br /> Disabled and Families Programs. <br />
