The Mashpee Housing Authority was represented by attorneys
Kathleen Franklin and Gerald S. Garnick. Also participating was
the architect for the construction of the project, Anthony Ferragamo,
and Michael Toner, administrative advisor to the Mashpee Housing
Authority.
A public hearing by the Board of Appeals of the Town of
Mashpee was held at the Town Offices building in Mashpee,
Massachusetts, at 7:30 p.m. , on July 29, 1987.
The proposed project consists of three duplex buildings.
Each building to house two separate families, for a total of housing
for six units. A barrier-free unit would be available to house a
family with one or more disabled persons. The units would be rented
to low- and moderate-income families. Each unit would consist of
three bedrooms and would have with it a separate storage shed.
Financing for this project will be from State funds. The Mashpee
Housing Authority will manage the rental and the occupancy of the
buildings.
The Mashpee Housing Authority submitted all of the necessary
documentations required in order to grant a Comprehensive Permit.
The petition and plans for this project were circulated to the various
department heads by the Board of Appeals prior to the hearing before
this Board, as required by the statute.
At the hearing, several interested parties were present,
including the fire chief. The fire chief made certain recommendations
and suggestions regarding a fire alarm system.
-2-
