4. That the Mashpee Housing Authority, to the maximum
degree allowed by law, will seek qualified family applicants who
are also residents of the Town of Mashpee in order to occupy and
reside in these family dwellings.
DECISION II
The second project presented by the Mashpee Housing Authority
was seeking permission under Massachusetts General Laws, .Chapter
40B - A Comprehensive Permit, to construct low- and moderate-income
housing in conjunction with Chapter 667, Housing for the Elderly
and Disabled. This project is to be located on a parcel of property '
off of Job's Fishing Road in Mashpee, on 2.25 acres of land, which
is to be donated to the Mashpee Housing Authority as authorized by
Mashpee Town Meeting vote. The plans call for 24 one-bedroom units,
a recreation room, office and kitchen facilities, in a U-shaped
building. The proposal also contained on premises parking. It was
adequately shown that the location of this property for the elderly
was superb because it will be within walking distance of many of
the Town's facilities and local stores, libraries, churches, and
parks. There would be no great necessity for automobiles.
The Board was informed of all of the zoning regulations
which were not complied with for the construction of this project,
and they were enumerated in paragraph 4 of the Petitioner's
Applications under the paragraph "Specific Relief Sought", numbers
1 through 12.
-4- -
