BOX 1108 <br /> SABLE Co" <br /> MASHPE E, MA 02649 <br /> n <br /> DECISION <br /> FOR A VARIANCE <br /> RE: Petition of Shell Oil Company for a Variance V-88-07-059 <br /> A Petition was filed by Shell Oil Company of Westwood, Massachusetts <br /> for a Variance under Section 10.6. 10 and 7.4 of the Zoning By-laws for <br /> permission to alter a sign on property located on Route 151 (Map 72, <br /> Lot 85) Mashpee, Massachusetts. <br /> Notice was duly given to abutters in accordance with Massachusetts <br /> General Laws Chapter 40A. Notice was given by publication in the <br /> Falmouth Enterprise, a newspaper of general circulation in the Town <br /> of Mashpee, on August 3 and August 10, 1988, a copy of which is <br /> attached hereto and made a part hereof. <br /> A public hearing was held on the petition at the Mashpee Town <br /> Hall on Wednesday, August 17, 1988 at 7:30 p.m. at which time the <br /> following members of the Board of Appeals were present and acting <br /> throughout: William Hanrahan, Michael Makunas and Edward Govoni. <br /> Counsel, representing the Applicant, presented plans of the <br /> proposed signage. He explained that the Variance was required to <br /> exceed the four square foot requirement in the By-laws and reviewed <br /> the proposed three-product price signs of 32 square feet similar to <br /> those maintained by Shell's competitors within the Town. <br /> The Board determined that granting this Variance would not be <br />
