Trottier for a Special Permit SP-89-07-78
A Petition was filed by Terrance S. Trottier of Mashpee, Massachusetts
for a Special Permit to allow for used car sales in a C-2 zoning district
on property located at 446 Main St. (Map 27, Block 48A) Mashpee,
Massachusetts.
Notice was duly given to abutters in accordance with Massachusetts
General Laws Chapter 40A. Notice was given by publication in The
Enterprise, a newspaper of general circulation in the Town of Mashpee,
on August 28 and September 4, 1989, a copy of which is attached hereto
and made a part hereof.
A public hearing was held on the Petition at the Mashpee Town Hall
on Wednesday, September 13, 1989 at 7:30 p.m. at which time the following
members of the Board of Appeals were present and acting throughout:
Cheryl A. Hawver, Michael A. Makunas and William J. Hanrahan.
Mr. Trottier informed the Board that he was requesting the
permit to allow for the sale of used cars which have been repaired
at the shop. No comments were received from abutters.
The Board reviewed the conditions of SP-87-09-072 which was filed
October 15, 1987 and granted a Special Permit to operate an automotive
repair garage and vending machine service warehouse on the property.
The permit was subject to the condition that a maximum of six vehicles
will be parked on the premises at one time and all vehicles to be
repaired will be parked to the rear of the building. The Board also
reviewed the minutes of the Annual Town Meeting of May 4, 1987
Article 14 which changed the zoning of the lot from R-3M to C-2.
The Board determined that the use is in harmony with other permitted
uses in C-2 zoning districts and complies with with the general or
specific provisions of the Zoning By-laws.
