• Shellfish Meeting: (Mr. Makunas reporting) Basically Paul Sommerville
is upset with our decision. He feels we acted improperly and illegally
'and he wants basically to stop us whether by law suit or political
pressure. He can proceed with legal action. For that he has to receive
Shellfish Commission approval, and has to go before the Selectmen to
apply for funding to hire special counsel. It's a legal matter.
Craig Hearing: On May 26 we had a hearing on the Craig in-law
apartment. (Here followed a short discussion on who sat on the case.)
Mike Makunas: I have a problem with that case. If 1 sat on it, I move
that we deny.
Mr. Hanrahan: I have to admit I think we've been asked to finance that
house, so I don't want to be on the decision.
Richard Halpern: Since we don't know who sat on it I move we take it
under advisement. So voted.
There are six decisions that have been made that haven't been written up
yet. The law says we're required to write them up within 14 days and
send them to Town Clerk as soon as a decision is made. One of them was
a denial (Wall denial on movement of tool shed).
10
Mr. Makunas: That
was a partial
denial. We just denied part of what
they asked for.
Richard Halpern:
I understand, but
he requested the whole thing. The
decision isn't now
recorded. If
we don't record and get to the Town
Clerk he can go in
and apply for
a constructive permit.
Meeting adjourned
by Mr. Hanrahan
at 8:50.
•
Nonie Nickerson
10
