BOX floe
MASHPEE, MA 02649
BOARD OF APPEALS
DECISION FOR A SPECIAL PERMIT
RE: Petition of Panayiotis Zafiropoulos for a Special Permit SP-90-48
A Petition was filed by Panayiotis Zafiropoulos of Weston,
Massachusetts for a Special Permit under Section 174.25.1.9 of the
Zoning By-laws for permission to reconstruct a dock, ramp and float
in an R-3 zoning district on property located at 39 Fiddler Crab Lane
(Map 105, Block 104) Mashpee, Massachusetts. (Owner of record:
Panayiotis M, and Georgia P. Zafiropoulos) .
Notice was duly given to abutters in accordance with Massachusetts
General Laws Chapter 40A. Notice was given by publication in The
Enterprise, a newspaper of general circulation in the Town of Mashpee
on June 25 and July 2, 1990, a copy of which is attached hereto and
made a part hereof.
A public hearing was held on the Petition at the Mashpee Town
Hall on Wednesday, July 11, 1990 at 7:30 p.m. at which time the
following members of the Board of Appeals were present and acting
throughout: Cheryl A. Hawver, Michael A. Makunas and William J.
Hanrahan.
Engineer John Slavinsky represented the applicant. He explained
that Mr. Zafiropoulos had been required by the Conservation Commission
to rebuild a dock conforming to present standards. Conservation had
no objections to the plans and the Shellfish Constable stated there
were no objections from the Shellfish Commission.
The Board determined that the Petitioner met the conditions
necessary for the granting of a Special Permit. The Board found that
the use is in harmony with the general purpose and intent of the
Zoning By-laws and complies with the provisions thereof.
