Mason <br /> Guests : John Ferriday, Gertrude Simmons- Ferriday, Linda Huges, <br /> Paul Ott, Judith Barnett, Judy Mills, Phyllis Paskowskis <br /> Tom Fudala, Elizabeth Petti, Bob Sherman, Denise <br /> Sullivan, Marilyn Farren, Ben Lofchie, Louise Behrman, <br /> Patrick Coffey, Paul Somerville, John Ferguson <br /> MINUTES <br /> Selectman Lawrence moved to accept the Regular and Executive <br /> Sessions of January 2, 1990 and the Regular Session of January 8, <br /> 1990 . Selectman Hanson seconded the motion, All present were in <br /> favor. Selectmen Gottlieb abstained from voting on the January 8, <br /> 1990 minutes, as he was not at the meeting . <br /> •APPOINTMENTS & HEARINGS <br /> 7 : 00 - James Circle HOP Project - Ms . Judith Barnett consultant to <br /> the James Circle project explained to the Board that they had <br /> originally proposed a 10 unit project but due to the fact that the <br /> homes are offered at a below market selling price and below market <br /> financing they needed to increase the number of units to 17 to <br /> meet standards of the Home Ownership Opportunity Program. She <br /> went on to explain that the town' s contribution usually comes from <br /> relaxing density and zoning for the proposed project as well as <br /> waiving fees relative to permits . There was also discussion <br /> relative to the road leading into this project . They would <br /> possibly be looking to the town to bring the road up to standards . <br /> Selectman Gottlieb explained the town is not in a position to chip <br /> in money ( approximately $120, 000 ) for the road . <br /> Mr. Fudala explained that this road was part of a petition from <br /> the John ' s Pond Association to have the town accept the roads in <br /> John' s Pond Estates through a betterment process . <br /> Ms . Barnett went on to say that the housing in the area is <br /> comparable to those being offered . They will sell quickly as they <br /> have a database of 30 individuals available for the housing . <br /> Judy Mills of the Planning Board stated that the Board looked <br /> • favorably on the project as it is more attractive than most HOP <br /> projects, and the buffer zone would remain. <br /> Selectman Gottlieb asked what would happen to the project if funds <br /> were not available from the state .
