1 <br /> • BOARD OF SELECTMEN <br /> MINUTES - REGULAR SESSION <br /> MONDAY, JANUARY 8, 1990 <br /> PAGE TWO <br /> OLD BUSINESS <br /> #1 (Cont. ) <br /> The Board agreed to defer its decision on Article 7 since a <br /> 4/5 vote is necessary and also to confer with the Finance <br /> Committee. <br /> The Board agreed to include Articles 8 and 9 on the <br /> warrant. Mr. Lawrence abstained from voting on Article 9. <br /> The Board agreed that Article 10 should be put off until <br /> the Annual Town Meeting. <br /> 2 , Proposed Relocation of Firearms Training Site - Brad Fish <br /> appeared before the Board to request approval of the <br /> • relocation of the Firearms Training Site to the Landfill <br /> Site. <br /> Judy Mills asked about an approved subdivision that abutts <br /> the Landfill . Mr. Costa stated that the Board of Health <br /> was in the process of getting a 50 foot buffer zone deeded <br /> to the Town. Mr. Costa also stated that a fence could be <br /> erected and that all safety issues would be addressed. <br /> Mr. Hanson moved to permit the relocation of the Firearms <br /> Training Site to the Landfill Site as requested and that <br /> safety factors be addressed by the Board of Health. Mr. <br /> Lawrence seconded the motion. All were in favor. <br /> 3 . Emergency Vehicle Access to Popponesset Island - The Board <br /> received an update relative to the status of emergency <br /> vehicle access to Popponesset Island from Chief Ridgeway. <br /> Chief Ridgeway attended to comment on the update, stating <br /> if there were a fire on the Island, the Fire Department <br /> could not provide adequate protection. Chief Ridgeway <br /> requested a pick-up truck and garage space on the Island. <br /> • <br />
