I I FISURE SERVICES ADVISORY COUNCIL MEETING Aoril 4. 1995 Present A Also Present MaryAnne Gibbs Maureen Paxton Gus Frederick Linda Young Nick Feldman George Costa Elisa Meunier Ron Roberts I Openina of Meeting - Meeting opened at the Mashpee Middle School Conference Room at 4:41 PM. I I. Secretary's Report No report made. 111. Communication's - A. South Cape Beach Management Plan-Gus is concerned there will only be three lifeguards- no back up situation. Also concerned about parking fees. B. Task Force for Children - Gus is representing Mashpee and will have more information after the April 13th meeting. Money should be available every year for 5 years. IV. Repo SS5 - A. Old Business- 1. By-Laws- MaryAnne made a motion to have 7 Members including one principal on a rotating basis. This year has been relatively smooth with the use of the buildings. We want to make sure this continues and all problems are ironed out We would like a school calendar earlier. Gus thanked Nick for his staff s cooperation this year. Next year Nick said he will not be running programs. Leisure Services will be doing the programs. Please remind Nick towards the end of May to meet with Bob and people involved with intramurals to create calendar. Gus will get some examples of contract/agencies for next month's meeting. 2. Youth Commission Update - Bulletin Board - excellent idea. B. New Business - 1. Spring Programs- some classes had to be canceled. Z. Summer Programs -Summer camps - interest in camps already. May have mountain climbing trip with Dr. Silva. 3. 125th Anniversary - Memorial Day weekend - Bands/Crafts/Dance/Clambake 4. Recognition Night- Everyone was for this idea Help would be needed. S. Recreation Building Plans - Everyone liked these plans. Possibly changing meeting rooms to make them larger - using moving walls.
