Board of Selectmen
Minutes 8
January 25, 1999
NEW BUSINESS:
Authorization to Execute Fire Station Desigmer Services Contract
(continued)
Motion made by Selectman Leveille to approve and execute
the Mashpee Fire& Rescue Station Designer Services Contract
with Wallace,Floyd Associates, Inc. in the amount of$222,572.
Motion seconded by Selectman Frye.
VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0.
APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS:
Pamela Summersall -Land Exchange at South Cape Resort& Club-
Pamela Summersall, William Chandler and Robert Woods were present on behalf
of the South Cape Resort& Club to discuss a potential land trade. Tom Fudala,
the Town Planner presented a memo to the Selectmen dated January 25, 1999
with respect to this regard.
Mr. Chandler requested the Board consider the trade of Town owned land located
at the entrance of South Cape, an area of 2.44 acres for a 6.05 acre parcel
adjacent to Town conservation land in the area of Great Hay Estates.
Mr. Chandler indicated that South Cape has proposed to use the land as it
presently exists as parking for guests who check in and also utilize the tennis
court facility. The land trade proposed for Town use would be strictly for
open space purposes explained Mr. Chandler.
It is the consensus of the Selectmen to request the Board of Health review the
proposal in addition to special permit requirements. Town Counsel will also
be consulted with respect to legality issues before the article is considered for
placement on the Town Meeting warrant in May.
