4 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> February 8, 1999 <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS: <br /> Back Road Offer: (continued) <br /> The total estimated cost is $200,000. The funding from AFCEE/MMR <br /> would assist with the planning process noted Mr. Taylor who expects <br /> to begin the re-paving process in early June upon voter approval. <br /> Mashpee resident,Ed Baker indicated that the AFCEE/MMR is <br /> anticipated to reimburse costs associated with water connection to area <br /> residents. Mike Minior,AFCEE responded by stating that they are aware <br /> of the intent to connect water mains. He suggested the Selectmen contact <br /> the JPO office regarding the detailed schedule of planned activities. <br /> Mr. Taylor noted that water mains are generally laid on the road shoulder <br /> with the exception of crossings that connect under the road. He suggested <br /> the Board move forth with the project proposal. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Caffyn to accept the contribution from the <br /> AFCEE/MMR in the amount of$100,000 towards the cost of re- <br /> paving Back Road. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Taylor. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Mr. Whritenour was directed to draft a memorandum of appreciation to <br /> the AFCCE/MNIR for their assistance to repair Back Road, and contact the <br /> JPO office with regards to the water main connection schedule. <br /> OLD BUSINESS: <br /> Extension of Bid for Town Building Landscape Services: <br /> The Director of Public Works recommended the Board extend the <br /> landscape bid to Dominic Crupi,The Capescaper for year two which <br /> would include the spring and fall of 1999. <br /> It was noted that The Capescaper submitted a three year bid for <br /> landscaping services in the amount of$17,950 for each spring and fall. <br /> Mr. Taylor indicated that he is pleased with their performance. <br />
