12 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> January 10, 2000 <br /> NEW BUSINESS: <br /> Request to Close the Popponesset Inn and New Seabury Country Club: <br /> Correspondence was received from Mark Sullivan, Food and Beverage <br /> Director dated December 17, 1999 requesting the Board approve the <br /> closure of the Popponesset Inn from January 17, 2000 through February <br /> 28, 2000. The restaurant will re-open on March 1, 2000. <br /> Mr. Sullivan also requested the Board approve the closure of the New <br /> Seabury Country Club from January 2, 2000 through January 16, 2000. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Blythe to approve the closure of the <br /> Popponesset Inn and New Seabury Country Club as specified. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Cahalane. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br /> Selectman Taylor abstained. <br /> MMR ISSUES: <br /> Selectman Blythe, a member of the Senior Management Team updated <br /> the Board on recent MMR issues. He recommended the Board remit a <br /> letter to applicable agencies requesting that a representative of the SMT <br /> from each of the four Upper Cape towns participate in upcoming <br /> discussions relative to the cleanup process. <br /> In particular, it is important that the Senior Management Team have <br /> voting capacity to assist with the determination of monetary contributions <br /> from the MMR for pollution that is not captured. There is also concern <br /> that more pollution may be detected in the future. <br /> The Board agreed to remit a letter of request to the applicable agencies in <br /> support of the above referenced matter. <br />
