2 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> January 24, 2000 <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS: <br /> Public Comment: <br /> Ed Larkin, a resident of the Southport community discussed the input he <br /> has received in opposition to the proposed Burger King to be sited in the <br /> area of Old Barnstable Road and Route 151. Under present C-2 zoning, <br /> fast food drive through restaurants are not permissible in the Town of <br /> Mashpee explained Mr. Larkin in concern. It was noted that the first <br /> Zoning Board of Appeals public hearing relative to this regard is <br /> scheduled on March 8, 2000. <br /> COMMUNICATIONS AND CORRESPONDENCE: <br /> Issue of Proposed Burger King on Route 151: <br /> Motion made by Selectman Taylor to place the above topic as an <br /> agenda item of the Board of Selectmen. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Leveille. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> A brief discussion ensued relative to the above referenced proposal. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Taylor to obtain an opinion from Town <br /> Counsel with respect to the proposed Burger King issue, and refer this <br /> matter to the Cape Cod Commission as a Development of Regional <br /> Impact, (DRI). <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Leveille. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> It was noted that a Development of Regional Impact would allow the Cape <br /> Cod Commission to review all issues associated with the project proposal. <br />
