Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> February 7, 2000 <br /> NEW BUSINESS: <br /> Acceptance of Fire Station Construction Bid: <br /> Correspondence was received from the Fire Station Building Committee <br /> dated February 3, 2000 recommending the Board accept the low bid of <br /> Standen Contracting Company, Inc. of North Dartmouth as general <br /> contractor for the renovation of the Mashpee Fire&Rescue Station. <br /> The bid price of$1,906,000 includes the acceptance of alternates#I and <br /> #2, which will allow for the replacement of the generator and installation <br /> of new lighting for the new parking area. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Cahalane to accept the recommendation <br /> of the Fire Station Building Committee, and award the contract for <br /> the renovation of the Mashpee Fire& Rescue Station to Standen <br /> Contracting Company,Inc. for the sum of$1,906,000. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Blythe. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Appointment of Representative to the Assembly of Delegates: <br /> Correspondence was received from the Assembly of Delegates dated <br /> January 26, 2000 requesting the Board appoint a member to the Advisory <br /> Board on County Expenditures (ABCE)to review the proposed budget. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Taylor to appoint Selectman John <br /> Cahalane to the Advisory Board on County Expenditures. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Blythe. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br /> Selectman Cahalane abstained. <br /> Habitat for Humanity re: Land for Affordable Housing: <br /> Habitat for Humanity of Cape Cod submitted a memorandum to the Board <br /> dated January 19, 2000 requesting the Town provide an additional parcel <br /> of land for Habitat's use. It is hopeful that an article would appear on the <br /> May Town Meeting warrant for said purpose. <br /> The Board agreed to direct the Town Planner to investigate potential site <br /> locations, and consider an article for the May Town Meeting. <br />
