12 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes ' <br /> August 7, 2000 <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS: <br /> Upper Cape Transportation—Appeal: <br /> James Morgan, owner of Upper Cape Transportation was present to <br /> discuss charges relative to the Town of Mashpee's Police Department <br /> revocation letter dated July 25, 2000. <br /> Sergeant Umma, Taxi Examiner recommended in his memorandum of <br /> July 25, 2000 that the suspension shall last for(45) days commencing on <br /> August 1, 2000. <br /> Mr. Morgan respectfully requested the suspension order be held for a <br /> period of (5) days noting that he has already closed his business for(7) <br /> days. Mr. Morgan formally apologized to the Selectmen and stated that a <br /> lot of time and money has been expended on this issue. <br /> Mr. Morgan then surrendered his taxi permit license, and requested the <br /> Board favorably grant him a livery license without conflict. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Marsters to rescind the Taxi License of <br /> James Morgan, d/b/a Mashpee Taxi. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Green. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Upper Cape Transportation—Livery License: <br /> Motion made by Selectman Marsters to place the above topic on the <br /> Selectmen's agenda. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Cahalane. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> James Morgan, Upper Cape Transportation requested the Board approve a <br /> Livery License for(2)vehicles to provide fixed rate of transportation to <br /> medical/hospital services to the greater Cape and Boston hospitals. <br /> Discussion followed. Sergeant Umina suggested the livery license be <br /> approved upon completion of the suspension period commencing August <br /> 15, 2000. Selectman Leveille recommended the license application be <br /> approved on August 22, 2000, fifteen days from this date. <br />
