1 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> August 14, 2000 <br /> Present: Selectman Leveille, Selectman Cahalane, Selectman Taylor, <br /> Selectman Marsters, Selectman Green <br /> Town Administrator Robert Whritenour <br /> Meeting Called to Order by Chairman Leveille at 6:30 p.m. <br /> Town Hall, Conference Room 31. <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS: <br /> Public Comment: <br /> Pirates Cove resident,Edward Baker presented copies of five past <br /> petitions to the Selectmen requesting the dredging of the Mashpee River. <br /> Mr. Baker suggested the Board combine the two dredging articles on the <br /> Town Meeting warrant, and meet with the Conservation Commission to <br /> discuss the disposal of the dredge spoils. <br /> John Peters,Jr.,Executive Director of Indian Affairs voiced support to the <br /> Trust for Public Lands in their endeavor to protect the Mizzenmast burial <br /> site. <br /> Town Meeting Warrant Review: <br /> The Board of Selectmen reviewed the October 2000 Town Meeting draft <br /> warrant with Diane Rommelmeyer, the Town Accountant. All articles <br /> were considered with the exception of the zoning articles, which will be <br /> reviewed with the Planning Board at the next scheduled workshop session. <br /> The following articles were deleted and/or held by the Selectmen for <br /> additional information. <br /> Board of Health Salary/Wage Account: <br /> To reclassify the current Administrative Secretary position(Grade IV, <br /> Step 3) to Administrative Assistant(Grade VI, Step 1)under the Clerical <br /> Union contract retroactive to 7/1/2000 the sum of$1,723.80. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Marsters to delete the Board of Health <br /> request for a position upgrade as defined. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Green. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br />
