Mr. Ferguson further
suggested that the citizens of Mashpee become involved in the discussion
process with the Board of Selectmen. Mr. Ferguson then requested the
Town not refer the Tribal Council as a tribe until the Bureau of Indian
Affairs makes their official determination.
Arthur Weinstein, a resident of Deer Crossing and member of the Council
on Aging discussed Article #19 of the Town Meeting warrant with the
Board of Selectmen. He stated that the Senior Center is presently
inadequate to service the growth of its citizens. It appears that the Senior
Center has been omitted from the article that proposed the review of
Recreation/Human Services/Community Facilities noted Mr. Weinstein
who requested the Boards' consideration to include the Senior Center on
the proposed warrant article.
James Long, Director of the Council on Aging supported Mr. Weinstein's
request to include the Senior Center on Article#19 of the Town Meeting
warrant.
