2
Board of Selectmen
Minutes
May 13, 2002
APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS:
Public Comment:
The Board of Selectmen introduced Jim Marr, the newly appointed
Assistant Town Administrator of the Town of Mashpee to the Board and
interested public. It was noted that sixty-six candidates applied for the
position. Three in-house employees were selected for the final interview.
Mr. Man was appointed by the Selectmen last Wednesday.
The Selectmen clarified an error that was reported in the Cape Cod Times
yesterday relative to the Senior Center. Mashpee voters did in fact pass a
ballot question to exclude the $1.5 million loan needed to build the center
from the limits of proposition 2 '/2. The construction of the Senior Center
was approved at the May 6, 2002 Town Meeting.
On behalf of the Board, Selectman Taylor presented Selectman John
Cahalane with a gavel for his dedication and leadership services as past
• Chairman of the Board of Selectmen.
Mashpee Chamber of Commerce—One Day Liquor License:
Selectman Leveille stepped down for the above referenced license request.
Representatives from the Mashpee Chamber of Commerce were present to
request the Selectmen approve a one-day liquor license on Friday, June 7,
2002 under the tents at Mashpee Commons for a wine tasting event.
Motion made by Selectman Taylor to approve the"Taste of Mashpee
Night of 100 Wines" on June 7,2002 as referenced.
Motion seconded by Selectman Cahalane.
VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0.
Selectman Leveille absent.
