1 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> May 8, 2002 <br /> Present: Selectman Cahalane, Selectman Marsters, Selectman Taylor <br /> Town Administrator Joyce Mason <br /> Absent: Selectman Green, Selectman Leveille <br /> Meeting Called to Or by Chairman Cahalane at 10:10 a.m. <br /> Town Hall, Conference Room#1. <br /> NEW BUSINESS: <br /> Interviews—Assistant Town Administrator: <br /> The Board of Selectmen met for the purpose of conducting interviews for <br /> the position of Assistant Town Administrator. In attendance was Marilyn <br /> Farren, Personnel Administrator. <br /> It was noted that sixty-six candidates responded to the position vacancy as <br /> posted. A total of eight applicants were interviewed. Four candidates <br /> were selected for the final interview process. An outside candidate <br /> withdrew his application for employment last week. <br /> The following three in-house candidates were interviewed by the <br /> Selectmen and Personnel Administrator; Myra Suchenicz, David Tately, <br /> and James Marr. <br /> Each candidate was interviewed in an equal manner. Careful deliberations <br /> considered James Man as the most suitable candidate for the position of <br /> Assistant Town Administrator. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Taylor to appoint James Marr III to the <br /> position of Assistant Town Administrator, and authorize Joyce Mason <br /> as Town Administrator to conduct salary negotiations on behalf of the <br /> Board of Selectmen. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Marsters. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 3-0. <br />
