9 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> March 15, 2004 <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS: <br /> Finance Committee—Warrant Discussion: <br /> The Board of Selectmen met in joint convention with members of the <br /> Finance Committee for the purpose of reviewing the omnibus budget and <br /> related Town Meeting warrants of Monday, May 3, 2004. <br /> The Finance Committee indicated that they voted unanimously to support <br /> a School budget of$16,984,751. The sum is $100,000 more than the <br /> recommendation set forth by the Board of Selectmen. <br /> In addition, the Finance Committee indicated that they voted unanimously <br /> to increase the expense line of the Police Department by$2,000. <br /> The omnibus budget recommendation of the Finance Committee with the <br /> above referenced changes amount to $38,556,728. <br /> Discussion followed with respect to potential funding sources to support <br /> the increased budget recommendation of the Finance Committee. <br /> The Finance Committee motioned unanimously to accept the warrant as <br /> printed with the two recommended budget changes. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Cahalane to accept the Annual and <br /> Special Town Meeting warrants as printed; Board of Selectmen <br /> recommendation$38,454,728 to include the Ballot Initiative; <br /> Roadways Bond $1.2 million required as a debt exclusion. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Green. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br />
