6 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> August 2, 2004 <br /> Council on Aging—Request for Approval to Apply for Grant(s): <br /> Two grant application requests were submitted by the Council on Aging to <br /> the Executive Office of Elder Services. One grant, in the amount of <br /> $7,644 would provide services to seniors with mental health issues. The <br /> second grant, in the amount of$15,051 is calculated on a capitation basis <br /> and is an amount equal to that which was approved and funded for in <br /> FY04. Funds would support newsletters, mailings and volunteer <br /> recognition and training. The grants do not require matching funds. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Myers to approve the (2) Council on <br /> Aging grant applications and authorize the Town Manager to execute <br /> said grant applications,and authorize the Town Manager to execute <br /> on behalf of the Board of Selectmen, any future grant applications <br /> that do not require any expenditures by the Town of Mashpee. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Marsters. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 3-0. <br /> Request for 111F Benefits-Patrol Sergeant Palermo: <br /> For informational purposes,the Selectmen received correspondence from <br /> Deputy Police Chief Al Todino dated July 27, 2004 regarding approval of <br /> Section 111 F benefits to Police Patrol Sergeant Robert Palermo for an <br /> injury he sustained on duty July 12, 2004. <br /> Ballot Ouestion Vote—Library Article: <br /> Correspondence was received from Deborah Dami, Town Clerk dated July <br /> 30, 2004 relative to the November 2, 2004 Proposition 2 '/z ballot question <br /> for the Library to be placed on the November 2, 2004 ballot. <br /> For disclosure, Selectman Marsters read aloud the following: <br /> Shall the Town of Mashpee be allowed to exempt from the provisions of <br /> Proposition 2 'h, so called, the amounts required to pay for the bond issued <br /> for the purpose of constructing a library and for expenses incidental and <br /> related thereto? Yes or No. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Marsters to vote to place the Proposition 2 <br /> % ballot question for the Library on the November 2,2004 ballot. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Myers. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 3-0. <br />
