8 <br /> • Board Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> June 19, 2006 <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS: <br /> Public Hearine—Road Conversion—Wintergreen:. <br /> The Board of Selectmen opened the Public Hearing on the private to <br /> public road conversion of Wintergreen Road, as shown on plans entitled <br /> Easement Taking and Layout Plan of Wintergreen Drive prepared by <br /> Eagle Surveying, Inc. dated December 21, 2005. <br /> The Hearing notice was read aloud in accordance to posting procedures <br /> and requirements. The Director's of the Public Works Department were in <br /> attendance to discuss the conversion with the Board and interested public. <br /> It was disclosed, the maximum estimated cost to be bome by the 23 <br /> property owners is $3,187.05. Road conversion procedures require a <br /> second petition signed by 501/6 of the homeowners prior to placement on <br /> the Town Meeting warrant. The deadline for placement on the October <br /> 2006 warrant is 7/10/06. <br /> • The Selectmen opened the Hearing to solicit comment. <br /> Michael Mullen, 9 Wintergreen Road asked about the betterment <br /> procedure. It was noted the actual cost of the intended betterment is not <br /> known until all work is completed. The construction cost would not <br /> exceed the betterment quotation. Mr. Mullen also asked about the existing <br /> new signage. It was noted that if the new signage conforms to compliance <br /> requirements,the new signs and posts would not have to be replaced. <br /> Louis Falcone asked when the betterment process began and of the <br /> benefits to make the road a public way. It was disclosed a petition was <br /> received in October of 1995 containing 50%of the property owner's <br /> signatures. Upon completion, the Town would be responsible for all <br /> maintenance on the road. Work in addition to snow plowing would <br /> include catch basin cleaning,crack filling, and pot hole repair, etc. <br /> Being no further comment,the Board motioned to close the Public <br /> Hearing. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Cook to close the Public Hearing. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Myers. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br /> • <br />
