As noted, the working group of the Mashpee
Dog Park recommends an amendment to the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Stanton
Foundation. The amendment reflects the standard language now included in the MOU's with the
Foundation. The changes are articulated in Ms. Laurent's memorandum.
Motion made by Selectman O'Hara to approve the amendment to the Memorandum of
Understanding between the Mashpee Dog Park and Stanton Foundation as presented.
Motion seconded by Selectman Sherman.
VOTI: Unanimous. 5-0.
Roll Call Vote:
Selectman Cabalane, yes Selectman Sherman, yes Selectman Gottlieb, yes
Selectman O'Hara, yes Selectman Cotton, yes Opposed, none
Annroval of Recommendation for Residents or Associations to oav for the cost of Street Liehtine on
Private Road — Chris Avis. Street Light Committee on behalf of DPW Director:
Street Light Committee member Chris Avis was in attendance to recommend that the costs for the
Town street lights on private roads be paid for by the residents or neighborhood associations effective
in FYI 7. Lights deemed to be necessary by the Police Chief for safety or other reasons would be
exempt.
It was noted that lights converted to LED have reduced annual costs by 60% or to $30 per light per
year. If this is supported by the Board, the residents or associations would receive an annual invoice
for the annual lighting cost of the lights on their roads. There are approximately 165 private street
lights, 109 are located on private roads.
Mr. Avis indicated the Street Light Committee contacted the neighborhood associations and/or
residents. It was noted the residents were agreeable to pay for the lights on their roads. If this is
supported by the Board, funding would revert to the Street Light Committee.
Discussion followed with respect to the expense of billing and time involved. The Board agreed to
defer action to obtain the actual costs.
LIAISON REPORTS
Special Events: Appreciation was expressed to all the volunteers who participated in the Mashpee
Chamber of Commerce Annual Spring Clean-up.
