<br />July 12, 1972

<br />Barnstable, SS: Greetings:
<br />To the Constable of the Town of Mashpee
<br />In tte name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you are hereby
<br />' directed to notify and summons the inhabitants of the Town of Mashpee,
<br />who are qualified to vote in the elections, to meet at the Town Hall
<br />on Wednesday, the 12th day of July,, 1972, at 7:30 o'clock p.m. for
<br />the following purposes:
<br />The meeting was called to order at seven forty-five with a
<br />quorum of ninety-six voters present.
<br />Article 1. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate
<br />the sum of $3,090.00 to install baseball field irrigation for the new
<br />field.
<br />Action: Motion duly made and seconded that article be indefinitely
<br />postponed. A.unanimous vote.
<br />Article 4• To see if the Town will vote to amend Article 11
<br />of the March, 1972, Annual Town Meeting to read:
<br />To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate the sum
<br />of $5,200.00 to be expended in conjunction with highway construction
<br />under Chapter #90, representing the Town's share and to transferfrom
<br />available funds in the treasury, the sum of $15,600.00 representing
<br />the State and County share, these monies to be used on Great Neck, ,
<br />Great Oak and Seconsett Island Roads. This amount when reimbursed, to
<br />be returned to surplus revenue, or take any other action thereon.
<br />Action: Motion duly made and seconded to accept article as amen'ded.
<br />A unanimous vote.
<br />Article 5. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate
<br />or transfer from available funds the sum of $923.44 to the Highway Wage
<br />Account or take any other action thereon.
<br />Action: Motion duly made and seconded to raise and appropriate
<br />the sum of $923.44• A unanimous vote.
<br />Article 6. To see if the Town will vote to reconsider the
<br />' action taken at the Annual Town Meeting in March of 1972 to purchase
<br />three portable school classrooms in the amount of $21,666.00 for the
<br />first contract year and $1,034.00 for furnishings and connecting
<br />utilities.
<br />Action: Motion duly made and seconded to reconsider the vote.
<br />A unanimous vote.
<br />Article 7. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate
<br />or take from available funds the sum of $21,666.00 for the lease -
<br />purchase of three portable school classrooms for the first contract
<br />year and $1,034.00 for furnishing and connecting utilities and
<br />authorize the Mashpee School Committee to budget the sum of $25,60$.00
<br />for lease -purchase purpose the second contract year, and $25,60$.00
<br />for the purpose of lease -purchase the third contract year or act
<br />anything thereon.
<br />Action: Motion duly made and seconded to raise and appropriate.
<br />A unanimous vote.
<br />Article 2. To see if the
<br />Town willxote toi.raise and appropriate
<br />the sum of $300.00 to replace
<br />the Indian sign at Attaquin Park that
<br />was destroyed by vandalism.
<br />Action: Motion duly made
<br />and seconded to raise and appropriate
<br />the sum of $300.00. A.unanimous
<br />vote.
<br />Article 3• To see if the
<br />Town will vote to transfer from the
<br />Road Machinery Fund the sum of
<br />$7,500.00 to be placed in a grader -
<br />Lease -Purchase Account.
<br />Action: Amended to read:
<br />To see if the Town will vote to
<br />trans e�the sum of $6,000 to
<br />be used as a down payment on the
<br />purchase of a new grader with
<br />the Town Treasurer to seek adequate
<br />'
<br />bank financing for the balance
<br />and in accordance with any app.icable
<br />General Laws. Motion duly made
<br />and seconded to accept article as
<br />amended. A unanimous vote.
