<br />WARRANT FOR SPECIAL TOWN MEETING
<br />January 16, 1974

<br />To the Constable of the'Town of Mashpee GREETINGS:
<br />' In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you are hereby
<br />directed to notify and summons the inhabitants of the Town of
<br />Mashpee, who are qualified to vote in the elections; to meet at the
<br />Town Hall on Wednesday, January 16, 1974, at 7:30 o'clock p.m. to act
<br />on the articles contained in the following Warrant.
<br />Moderator William Mills called the meeting to order at 7:55Pm
<br />with a quorum of one hundred sixty-four voters present, and proceeded
<br />to read the Summons as printed above. Opening address was given by
<br />Randolph G. Peters, Chairman of the Board of Selectmen, with intro-
<br />duction of Town Government members present.
<br />ARTICLE 1. To see if the Town will vote to take from available
<br />funds the sum of $960.00 to be used as an expense account by the
<br />Waterways Committee, or take any other action thereon.
<br />ACTION: Motion duly made and seconded to take from available
<br />funds the sum of $960.00. Unanimously voted.
<br />ARTICLE 2. To see if the Town will vote to take from available
<br />funds the sum of $1,620.00 to be used by the Waterways Committee for
<br />the purchase and installation of additional buoys, signs, channel
<br />markers and danger area markers in the coastal waters on inland
<br />ponds in the Township or take any other action thereon.
<br />ARTICLE 3. To see if the Town will vote to take from available
<br />funds the sum of $3,500.00 to be used in the Disposal Area Expense
<br />Account.or take any other action thereon.
<br />ACTION: Motion duly made and seconded to take from available
<br />funds the sum of $3,500.00. Unanimously voted.
<br />ARTICLE 4. To see if the Town will vote to take from available
<br />funds the sum of $1,200.00 to be used in the Board of Health Expense
<br />Account or take any other action thereon.
<br />ACTION: Motion duly made and seconded to take from available
<br />funds the sum of $1,200.00. Unanimously voted.
<br />ARTICLE 5. To see if the Town will vote to increase the Board of
<br />Health members' salary from $3$6.00 per year to $1,000.00 per year
<br />or take any other action thereon.
<br />ACTION: Motion duly made and seconded to table Article 5.
<br />Unanimously voted.
<br />ARTICLE; 6. To see if the Town will vote to take by eminent domain.
<br />'for municipal building purposes the land shown as Parcel 1 on the
<br />current Assessor's Plan No. 67, being the same parcel devised by
<br />Will of Henry Smith to George Draper, individually and as Trustee,
<br />and taken by Tax Deed from Isaac F. Hendricks, Barnstable Deeds
<br />Book 485, page 250, bounded and described as follows:
<br />Commencing at the southwesterly corner of the premises at
<br />the crossing of Bates Road, so called, and Whiting Road, so
<br />called; thence northerly by the easterly line of said
<br />Whiting Road forty-five and a half rods to Jobs Fishing Road,
<br />so called; thence continuing northerly by the easterly line
<br />of said Whiting Road seventy-three rods to its junction with
<br />the Great Hay Road, so called; thence southeasterly by the
<br />southwesterly line of said Great Hay Road one hundred four
<br />rods to Bates Road aforesaid; thence westerly by the southerly
<br />line of said Bates Road eighty-six and a half rods to its
<br />crossing over said Whiting Road, the place of beginning
