To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate or <br />to transfer from the Revenue Sharing Account the sum of „1,000 for <br />Bicentennial expenses or take any other action thereon. Submitted by <br />Mashpee Historical Commission. <br />ACTION:, Moved and seconded to transfer from Revenue Sharing Account <br />$1,000.60. So voted, unanimously. <br />ARTICLE 55. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate or <br />take from Revenue Sharing the sum of $7,000 to match funds with federal <br />and state agencies for construction of a wing on the Mashpee Indian <br />Museum, to include public rest room facilities and more adequate exhibit <br />area. Submitted by Mashpee Historical Commission. <br />ACTION: Moved and seconded that Article 55 be tabled. So voted. <br />ARTICLE; 56. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate <br />the interest on the Revenue Sharing Account in the Amount of $2,043 <br />to install sanitary facilities for the Avant Museum. Submitted by <br />Board of Selectmen. <br />ACTION: Maved and seconded that Article 56 be tabled. So Voted. <br />ARTICLE 57. To see if the Town will vote to establish the positions <br />for staff of the Mashpee Wampanoag Indian Museum. <br />1. Director -Curator <br />2. Assistant Director <br />3. Administrative Assistant <br />4. Decent or Education Guides <br />5. Maintenance & Groundskeeper; <br />or take any other action thereon. In the event the town meeting forum does not vote to <br />maintain and operate the Mashpee Wampanoag Indian Museum adequately <br />or vote to pay the necessary staff for purposed of year-round operation, <br />the following is proposed: <br />To see if the Town will vote to transfer ownership of the Museum <br />and property to the Mashpee Wampanoag Indian Tribal Council, or take <br />any other action thereon. Submitted by Mashpee Historical Commission. <br />ACTION: Motion made and seconded that Article 58 be tabled. Unanimously <br />voted. <br />ARTICLE 59. To see if the Town will vote to establish a comprehensive <br />plan Review Commission consisting of a representative from each of the <br />following: Planning Board: Conservation Commission: Taxpayer's Assoc., <br />Health Department: Pennisula Council of New Seabury: Waterways <br />Committee: Ashumet-John's Pond Assoc: Briarwood Assoc.: S.A.V.E. of <br />New Seabury: Mashpee Wampanoag Indian Council, said Commission to under- <br />take an immediate study of the Social, economic and ecological conse- <br />quences of the accelerating increases and concentration of land develop- <br />ment and building construction in the Town of Mashpee in terms of the <br />health, safety, convenience, morals and welfare of the Town of Mashpee <br />and shall in connection therewith consider the following aspects, and <br />of "own growth_tand development among other pertinent aspects, and <br />without limiting the generality thereof: Population <br />saturation point, remedial zoning, economic impact of controlled or <br />unlimited growth; conservation imperatives, and Town policies vis-a-vis <br />housing, recreation, welfare, health, education, minorities, employment, <br />elderly, youth and maintenance of traditional Town values. <br />ACTION: Recommended <br />to <br />raise and appropriate to establish the following <br />positions: <br />1. <br />Director -Curator, $5,000 <br />2. <br />Assistant Director, not to exceed 20 <br />hours, $2,900. <br />3. <br />Maintenance & Groundskeeper, not to <br />exceed 20 hrs, $3,020 <br />Motion duly made and <br />seconded to accept Article 57 as recommended. <br />Unanimously voted. <br />AMENDED TO READ: <br />2. <br />Delete Assistant Director and put <br />PART-TIME CLERK --$2,900. not to exceed 20 hrs. <br />ARTICLE 58.
