-17- <br />103rd ANNUAL TOWN MEETING WARRANT <br />303 <br />ARTICLE 72. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate or <br />take from available funds the sum of $2,100 to commence the development <br />of the engineering plan for the installation of a Town Landing on the <br />Southwest shores of Ockway Bay as recommended in the determination of <br />Article 19 in the Town Warrant of July 12, 1974. The required first <br />stage of development being the required gracing for, and installation <br />of a concrete slipway. Submitted by Town Landing Committee. <br />ACTION: Moved and seconded to take from available funds $2,100. (The <br />year amended to read 1973. So voted. <br />AT THIS TIME, RANDOLPH PETERS --SELECTMEN ANNOUNCED: <br />Frank E. Flicks --Chairman <br />Kevin O'Connell --Assistant Chairman <br />Randolph Peters --Clerk <br />ARTICLE 73. To see if the Town will accept Section 61 of Chapter 40 <br />of the General Laws, inserted by St. 1961, c 381, which provides, <br />so far as it affects town, as follows: <br />"...a town which accepts (this section): at an annual town meeting, <br />may construct, resurface and repair any private way which has been <br />used by the public for fifty years or more: provided that all the <br />owners of land abutting on any such way petition such town to do such <br />work." Submitted by Taxpayers of Mashpee. <br />ACTION: Motion made and seconded that Article 73 be accepted as read. <br />100 for <br />45 opposed ---Motion Carried. <br />ARTICLE 74. To see if the Town will vote to increase the mileage rate <br />from 10 cents a mile to 15 cents a mile or take any other action thereon. <br />Submitted by Board of Selectmen. <br />ACTION: P1iotion made and seconded to ament article to read 1112 cents <br />a mile." So voted. <br />ARTICLE 75. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate or <br />take from available funds the following amounts for overdrawn <br />appropriations and unpaid bills. <br />Interest on Temporary Loans $624.38 <br />Park &. Recreation Wages 08 <br />State Chemical Manufacturing Co. 147.48 <br />(Cemetery Dept.) <br />Submitted by Town Accountant. <br />ACTION: Motion made and seconded to add Police Chief's Salary of $920, <br />and to raise and appropriate the total amount of $1,691.94. <br />Unanimously voted. <br />ARTICLE 76. To see if the Town will authorize the Selectmen to con- <br />tract with the New Bedford Gas & Edison Light Co. to install and main- <br />tain the following street lights (standard lumens) <br />1 light corner Lowell Road and Webquish "ane Pole #3 <br />1 light corner Mashpee Neck Road and Compass Drive Pole #0 <br />1 light corner Mashpee Neck Road and Ships Wheel Drive, Pole #8 <br />3 lights Route 28, Mashpee Poles 225/3, 225/4, 225/5 <br />1 light Route 130 Pole #20 <br />2 lights Great Deck Road Pole #97 & Pole #101 <br />Requested by residents. <br />ACTION: Motion made and seconded to accept Article 76 as CORRECTED. <br />Compass Drive was changed to Ships Wheel Drive <br />Ships Wheel Drive was changed to Port Hole Drive <br />ARTICLE 77. To see if the Town will vote to authorize and empower its <br />selectmen to appoint an executive secretary pursuant to the provisions <br />of Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 41, Section 23A, or take any <br />other action with respect to such a position. Submitted by Municipal <br />Government Study Committee. <br />
