3®9 <br />WARRANT FOR SPECIAL TOWN MEETING <br />Town of Mashpee <br />June 24, 1974 <br />Barnstable ss: <br />To the.Constable of the Town of Mashpee Greetings: <br />' In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you are <br />hereby directed to notify and summons the inhabitants of the <br />Town of Mashpee, who are qualified to vote in the elections, <br />to meet at Town Hall on Monday, June 24, 1974, at 7:30 P.M. to <br />act on the articles contained in the following warrant: A quorum present, <br />Moderator Peter M. Lawrence, called the meeting to order at 7:45 p.m. Tellers: Eleanor <br />Peters, Mary Potter. <br />ARTICLE 1. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate <br />or transfer from available funds the sum of $1,600 to be applied <br />to the Selectmen's Advertising Account for the balance of the <br />fiscal year ending June 30, 1974, or take any other action thereon. <br />Submitted by Board of Selectmen. <br />Recommended to transfer $1,600 from available funds. <br />ACTION: Moved and seconded to transfer from available funds $1,600. So voted. <br />ARTICLE 2. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate <br />or transfer from available funds the sum of $3,500 to be applied <br />to the Selectmen's Legal and Engineering Account for the balance <br />of the fiscalyear ending June 30, 1974, or take any other action <br />thereon. <br />Submitted by Board of Selectmen. <br />Recommend6d to transfer $3,500._from available funds. <br />ACTION: Moved and seconded to trqnsfer from available funds $3,500. So voted. <br />ARTICLE 3. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate <br />or transfer from available funds the sum of $1,000.00 to be applied <br />to the Town Hall Maintenance Account for the balance of the fiscal <br />year "ending June 30, 1974, or take any other action thereon. <br />Submitted by Board of Selectmen. <br />Recommended to transfer $1,000 from available funds. <br />ACTION: Moved and seconded to transfer from available funds the sum of $1,000. Motion carrie <br />ARTICLE 4. To see if the Town will vote to transfer the interest <br />on the Revenue Sharing Account in the amount of $2,043.00 <br />to install sanitary facilities for the Avant Museum. <br />Submitted by Board of Selectmen. <br />Not Recommended as there is $2,637.53 available in the Avant House <br />Restoration Account that can be used for this purpose. <br />ACTION:Moved and seconded that Article 4 be tabled. Motion carried. <br />ARTICLE 5. To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Selectmen <br />to petition the Department of Natural Resources; Division of Marine <br />Fisheries, under the provisions of General Laws, Chapter 130, Section <br />94, for the right to control and regulate the taking of herring. <br />Submitted by Board of Selectmen. <br />ACTION: Moved and seconded that Article 5 be accepted as read. Motion carried. <br />ARTICLE 6. To see if the Town will vote to transfer from the Road <br />Machinery Fund to a Road Machinery Account the sum of $3,000 <br />(three thousand dollars), these monies to be used for payment of <br />repair work done on A/C 840 Loader or take any other action thereon. <br />Submitted by Highway Department. <br />Recommended with an amendment. <br />ACTION: Moved and seconded that Article 6 be accepted as read. Motion carried. <br />
