332 <br />Continued Page 15 May 12, 1975 <br />Article 72: To see if the Town will vote to repeal the limitation of the use <br />of engines exceeding 45 horsepower on John's Pond. <br />ACTION: Motion duly made and seconded to indefinitely postpone Article 72. <br />Motion carried 170 for -- 56 opposed. <br />Article 73: To see if the Town will vote to amend Article IV of the Town <br />By -Laws as follows: <br />"twenty-five voters" and add the words, <br />"five per cent of the number of registered voters". <br />Article IV shall then read: "Ten per cent of the number of registered voters <br />in the Town, as certified by the Town Clerk, shall constitute a quorum at any <br />annual meeting. Five per cent of the number of registered voters shall constitute <br />a quorum at any special town meeting." <br />ACTION: Motion duly made and seconded to amend Article 73 to read: To see <br />if the Town will vote to amend Article IV of the Town By -Laws as follows: <br />to delete "twenty-five voters" and add the words, <br />"five per cent of the number of registered voters" <br />Article IV shall then read: "Ten per cent of the number of registered voters in the <br />Town, as certified by the Town Clerk, shall constitute a quorum.at any annual meeting. <br />Five per cent of the number of registered voters shall constitute a quorum at any <br />special town meeting." <br />Motion duly made.and seconded to accept Article 73 as amended. So voted. <br />Article 74: To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate or take <br />from available funds a sum of money to compile and publish the Town By -Laws; said <br />By -Laws to be made available by January 1, 1976, at a cost to cover the publishing. <br />ACTION: Motion duly made and seconded to amend Article 74 to read: To see ' <br />if the Town will vote to take from available funds the sum of $2,200.00 to compile <br />and publish the Town By -Laws; said By -Laws to be made available by January l,'1976, <br />at a cost to cover the publishing plus mailing charges, if any. Motion made and <br />seconded to accept article as amended. So votedl <br />Article 75: To see if the Town will vote to amend Article I, Section 2 of the <br />Town By -Laws as follows: delete the words, "Give notice at least seven (7) days <br />before such meeting" and add the words, "give notice at least fourteen (14) days <br />before such meeting." <br />Article I - Section 2 shall then read: "Every Town Meeting Warrant except <br />as otherwise provided by law shall be directed to the Constable who shall forthwith <br />give notice at least fourteen (14) days before such meeting, by posting a copy <br />of said warrant, one at the Town Hall, one at the Post Office and one at each of the <br />Town bulletin boards, and by causing to be published in a newspaper of general <br />circulation within the Town of Mashpee copy of said warrant." <br />ACTION: Motion duly made and seconded to accept Article 75 as read. So voted. <br />Article 80: To see if the Town will vote to make the following addition to the <br />Zoning By -Law: <br />Section 9.42-11, Special Provisions - Exceptions for Cluster Zoning <br />Section 9.42-11, A minimum of 25 per cent of the total tract, excluding side- <br />walks, roads, and 90 percent of wetlands, shall be common open space. , <br />ACTION: Motion duly made and seconded to accept Article 80 as read. A <br />unanimous vote. <br />Article 81: To see if the Town will vote to increase the number of members <br />of the School Committee from three members to five members. One member to serve <br />for two years, one member to serve for one year or take any other action thereon. <br />ACTION: Motion duly made and seconded to indefinitely postpone Article 81. <br />So voted. (IMproperly submitted to Selectmen) <br />
