33: <br />TOWN OF MASHPEE <br />SPECIAL TOWN MEETING <br />December 2, 1975 <br />The Commonwealth of Massachusetts <br />Barnstable, ss: <br />To the Constable of the Town of Mashpee Greetings <br />In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you are hereby directed <br />to notify and summons the inhabitants of the Town of Mashpee, who are qualified to <br />vote in the elections, to meet at the Town Hall on Tuesday, the second day of December, <br />1975, at seven o'clock, p.m., for the following purposes: <br />To act on the articles contained in the following warrant: <br />A quorum present, moderator Peter M. Lawrence called the meeting to order <br />at 7:25 p.m. <br />ARTICLE 1. To see if the Town will vote to take from available funds the sum of <br />$800.00 to increase the present Town employees' life insurance from $2,000.00 <br />to $5,000.00; said sum to be applied to the Group Insurance Account, covering the <br />period of January 1 - June 30, 1976. <br />SUBMITTED BY THE BOARD OF SELECTMEN <br />RECOMMENDED BY THE FINANCE COMMITTEE to provide additional term life insurance <br />for town employees. <br />ACTION: ,Motion duly made and seconded that Article 1 be accepted as read. <br />Article passes. <br />ARTICLE 2. To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Selectmen's Office to <br />hire a full-time clerk/typist and to take from available funds, to be applied to <br />the Selectmen's Wage Account, the sum of $3,379.20, said sum to represent wages <br />for clerk/typist. <br />SUBMITTED BY THE BOARD OF SELECTMEN <br />BY THE PERSONNEL BOARD <br />RECOMMENDED BY THE FINANCE COMMITTEE in agreement with the Personnel Board to <br />provide an additional employee to alleviate the heavy work load in this office. <br />, <br />ACTION: Motion duly made and seconded that Article 2 be accepted as read. <br />Article passes. <br />ARTICLE 3. To see if the Town will vote to take from available funds the sum of <br />$9,500.00 for equipment and materials to control the pollutant abatement and <br />spring emergent algae in Mashpee lakes and ponds. <br />SUBMITTED BY THE BOARD OF SELECTMEN <br />RECOMMENDED BY THE FINANCE COMMITTEE as being necessary to control this problem <br />in our lakes and ponds. <br />ACTION: Motion duly made and seconded that Article 3 be accepted as read. <br />Motion carried. <br />' ART'ICLE 4. To see if the Town will vote to take from available funds the sum of <br />$18,000.00 for the services of a registered engineer and the necessary licensed <br />applicators needed to take emergency action for control of pollutants in Mashpee <br />lakes and ponds. <br />SUBMITTED BY THE BOARD OF SELECTMEN <br />NOT RECOMMENDED BY THE FINANCE COMMITTEE as the vote to recommend this article <br />resulted in a tie and, therefore, did not prevail. <br />ACTION: Motion duly made and seconded that Article 4 be accepted as read. <br />Motion carried. <br />
