336 <br />- cm: <br />Special Town Meeting Page 2 December 2, 1975 <br />ARTICLE 5. To see if the Town will vote to take by eminent domain for the purpose <br />of providing a slope to the highway a parcel of land on the east side of Great Neck <br />Road, said parcel being shown on a plan of land entitled "Town of Mashpee, Plan <br />of Widening of Great Neck Road as laid out by the Selectmen, Scale: 1" - 4011, <br />dated October 29, 1975, Philip D. Holmes, Civil Engineer, Land Surveyor, 301 Main <br />Street, Falmouth, Mass., "said plan being on file at the Town Clerk's Office and <br />take from available funds the sum of $500.00 thereof. <br />SUBMITTED BY THE BOARD OF SELECTMEN <br />RECOMMENDED BY THE FINANCE COMMITTEE as being necessary to the reconstruction I of Great Neck Road. <br />ACTION: Motion duly made and seconded that Article 5 be accepted as read. <br />Unanimously voted. <br />ARTICLE 6. To see if the Town will vote to take from available funds the sum <br />of $14,500.00, said sum to meet obligations of the Fire Contract. <br />SUBMITTED BY THE BOARD OF SELECTMEN <br />RECOMMENDED BY THE FINANCE COMMITTEE to provide the funds to meet the obligations <br />of the new Fire Contract, the correct sum to be inserted on he Town Meeting floor. <br />ACTION: Motion duly made and seconded that Article 6 be accepted as read. <br />Unanimously voted. <br />ARTICLE 7. To see if the Town will vote to take from available funds the sum <br />of $45,800.00 (State Funds) for State Aid construction or improvement, reimbursement <br />received therefrom to be returned to available funds, or take any other action thereon. <br />SUBMITTED BY THE HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT <br />RECOMMENDED BY THE FINANCE COMMITTEE to complete the reconstructionof Great Neck Road, <br />and perform work on Old Barnstable Road and South Sandwich Road. The Finance <br />Committee also recommends that the article be amended by adding the words "provided <br />that such work shall be put out to bid by private contractors". <br />ACTION: Motion duly made and seconded that Article 7 be accepted as read. <br />Amendment was defeated. 280 for and 57 opposed. Motion carries. <br />ARTICLE 8. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate from available funds the sum <br />of $1,500.00 to stablish a "revolving" account for special -training education, <br />off-duty courses, as called for in the current Police Contract, or take any other <br />action thereon. <br />SUBMITTED BY THE POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />RECOMMENDED BY THE FINANCE COMMITTEE with an amendment deleting in line two the <br />words "a revolving" and inserting in place therein the word "an". <br />ACTION: Motion duly made and seconded to amend Article 8 to read: <br />Amendment --- "An account". <br />Motion carries. <br />ARTICLE 9. To see if the Town ill vote <br />of $2,249.30 for the purchase of two (2) <br />equipment. <br />SUBMITTED BY MASHPEE POLICE ASSOCIATION <br />to take from available funds the sum <br />security dogs, trained, and miscellaneous <br />RECOMMENDED BY THE FINANCE COMMITTEE as requested by members of the Mashpee Police <br />Association to assist them in the performance of their duties. <br />ACTION: Motion duly made and sedonded that Article 9 be accepted as read. Motion <br />carried. <br />
