372 <br />Special Town Meeting September 23, 1976 <br />TOWN OF MASHPEE <br />SPECIAL TOWN MEETING WARRANT <br />September 23, 1976 <br />THE COMMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS <br />Barnstable, ss: <br />To the Constable of the Town of Mashpee <br />Greetings: <br />In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you are <br />hereby directed to notifyrand summons the inhabitants of the Town <br />of Mashpee, who are qualified to,yote in the elections, to meet <br />at Queen of All Saints Church, Great Neck Road, Mashpee, on Thursday, <br />September 23, 1976, at seven o'clock, p.m., for the following purposes <br />To act on the Articles contained in the Warrant. <br />Since a quorum was present, Moderator, Frank M. Leonardi, called <br />the meeting to order at 7:45 p.m. with 654 voters in attendance. <br />Tellers were: <br />Mary Potter Eleanor Thaxton Marian Folkins <br />Grace Maddox Anne Shackett Alexis Hanson <br />Joyce Howell Lois MacDonald <br />ARTICLE 1. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate <br />or take from available funds the sum of $ for the Legal and Engineer- <br />ing Account. <br />ACTION: Motion duly made and seconded to raise and appropriate <br />the sum of $50,000., said sum to be added to the Selectmen's Legal <br />and Engineering Account. So Voted. <br />ARTICLE 2. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate <br />or take from available funds the sum of $ to be applied to the <br />Selectmen's Expense Account. <br />ACTION: Motion made and seconded to raise and appropriate the <br />sum of $4,000.00 to be applied to the Selectmen's expense account <br />and the sum of $1,000.00 to be applied to a Selectmen's out-of- <br />state travel account. So Voted. <br />ARTICLE 3._� To see if the Town will vote to rescind the amount <br />set for the salaries of the Selectmen in Article 6 of the May 5, 1976, <br />Annual Town Meeting and to set an additional sum of money for said <br />salariess and to raise and appropriate or take from available funds a <br />sum suffieient to pay said salaries. <br />ACTION: A Motion was made and seconded that the Town raise and <br />appropriate the sum of $22,359.for salaries for the Selectmen and <br />rescind the amount set for Selectmen's salaries at the last annual <br />Town Meeting. So voted. <br />The meeting was adjourned at 8:40 p.m. <br />And you are directed to serve this Warrant by posting up <br />attested copies thereof, one at the Town Hall, one at the Post Office, <br />one each on the bulletin boards, fourteen days at least before said <br />meeting. <br />Hereof Fail not and make returns of this Warrant with your <br />doings thereon to the Town Clerk at the time and place of said meeting. <br />Given under our hands this 9th day of September in the year of our <br />Lord one thousand nine hundred and seventy-six. <br />George A.
