MM Special Town Meeting -2- September 26, 1979 ARTICLE 5. To see if the Town will vote to amend the action taken on'Article 9 at the Annual Town Meeting of 1979 by in- creasing the amount appropriated as salary for two of the Selectmen in the sum of $2,500.00 each to a sum of $5,200 each for the current fiscal year, and to transfer from Available Funds a sum of rmney to the Selectmen's Salaries Account, or take any other action thereon. ACTION: No action. See opening statement. ARTICLE 6. To see if the Town will vote to instruct the Selectmen to petition the General Court of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to confirm and validate the action taken by this Town meeting on Article 5. ACTION: No Action. See opening statement. ARTICLE 7. To see if the Town will vote to transfer from Available Funds a sum of money to purchase a snowplow and frame for the new 1 -ton GMC Dump Truck, or take any other action thereon. ACTION: Motion made and seconded to amend Article 7 to read: Old Barnstable Road, South Sandwich Road Construction Account and apply it to the Highway Expense Account for the purchase of a snowplow and frame for the new 1 -ton GMC Dump Truck. Motion carried. ARTICLE 8. To see if the Town will vote to transfer from Available Funds a sum of money to purchase one boat, motor, and trailer to be used by the Harbormaster/Police, or take any other action thereon. ACTION: Motion made and seconded that Article 8 read: ' To see if the Town will vote to transfer the sum of $6,240.00 from the Popponesset Bay Breakwater Account and to further authorize the Town to trade in one existing boat and motor for the purchase of one boat, motor and trailer to be used by the Harbormaster. (The Moderator declared that he wouldlike to make a biased observation and would like to surrender the gavel to the Town Clerk. The Town Clerk declined and deferred the gavel to Kevin O'Connell, Chairman of the Board of Selectmen.) Motion made and seconded to amend the main motion to read: To see ifkthe Town will vote to transfer the sum of $6,240.00 from the Popponesset Bay Breakwater Account and to further authorize the trailer to be used by the Harbormaster and applied to the Harbormaster Expense Account. Motion carried. ARTICLE 9. 'To see if the Town will authorize the Selectmen to lay out and define Popponesset'Island Bridge and the approaches thereto on either side, and an easement (approxi- mately 100' on either side), for excess purposes to said ' bridge, and to further raise and appropriate, or transfer from available funds, a sum of money to accomplish the fore- going, or take any other action thereon. ACTION: No Action. See opening statement. ARTICLE 10. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appro- priate, or transfer from Available Funds, a sum of money to purchase "One Type III Emergency Ambulance", or take any other action thereon.
