-7-
Pauline: Swim or walk. That is a conservation right that you can traverse.
Mr. Collins: If the local conservation can get overruled, you have to have a by-
law.
Pauline: Chet suggests moorings. Joe Reardon recommended that we come to you.
It is up to the Harbor Master to say how many moorings.
Air. Blakeman: I am for putting it in and seeing what the people want.
Dick Terry: Decide among ourselves to bring this in. We can try to get together
and have a consensus.
Ken: People are buyinr, shallow water lots and trying to make deep water lots out
of them.
Richard: Moorings creates problems.
Charlie: Chet said there was plenty of room. No problems in Jehu Pond. It may be
more of a problem in Great River. This has been Chet's indication to us that he
would prefer to see moorings.
Mr. Collins: Suggests that they be limited to residents.
Dick Terry: We should hold a public hearing.
Mr. Blakeman: This shall be sponsored jointly with the Conservation Board and Plan-
ning Board.
Ken: Fine with us.
Dick Terry: We can put it in the article and say sponsored by Conservation. We will
hold a public hearing.
Mr. Bl?keman: Is there is time schedule on this?
Pauline: Every meeting we have, there are filings for one or two more docks.
Richard: Suggest it not be at the Special Town meeting. Put it in for the annual town
meeting.
Charlie: That will give us time to get feed-in from Chet.
Discussion on Mashpee River Corridor
Mr. Blakeman : The only regret that I have is what is good enough for Mashpee River is
good enough for all rivers. It appears to be working very well so far. g I would like
to see same control on all other rivers in the Town of Mashpee.
'Richard : I don 't go along with that. The Mashpee River is in the Town of Mashpee.
Pauline: 4'V id.ea was that it was the only river the began in town and ended in town
Scenic River. )
Difk Terr.v: People did not want the State involved..
