Town of Mashpee <br /> Historic District Commission <br /> Minutes of Meeting <br /> June 18,2008 <br /> Roll Call: <br /> Present: Chair Lee Gurney, Earl Mills, Joe Mullin, Wayne Picard, Mike Robbins <br /> Absent: None <br /> Also present: Town Planner Tom Fudala <br /> Chairman Gurney called the meeting to order at 4:40 p.m. in Town Hall Meeting Room 1. <br /> Minutes: <br /> During review of May 21, 2008 minutes, Chairman Gurney recommended that a change be <br /> made in the second to last paragraph on page 2 to read"If an applicant does not receive a Certificate <br /> from the Commission,they will be ineligible to receive a Building Permit. . ." <br /> Motion made by Mr. Mills to accept the minutes of the May 21,2008 meeting as corrected. <br /> Motion seconded by Mr. Robbins. Approved unanimously. <br /> The Chair announced that the Public Hearing will not begin until 5 p.m. and invited <br /> Commission members to share any topics requiring discussion until that time. <br /> Mr. Fudala indicated that one payment of$2400 is due to the Public Archeology Lab(PAL), <br /> which will be paid by funds from the Cape Cod Commission. The contract with PAL ends for the <br /> Historic District Study Committee so an invoice will be sent to close it out. <br /> Mr. Fudala has included a few more pictures in the draft District manual but commitments with <br /> the Planning Board may prevent him from making too many additional changes prior to July 15. After <br /> July 15,Mr. Fudala will record the plan with the Massachusetts Historical Commission,the Planning <br /> Board and other appropriate recipients. The Building Dept. has referred one applicant, but that <br /> application does not require review. <br /> Ms. Gurney inquired about availability of additional Commissioners to fill the open seats. Mr. <br /> Mills has spoken with the Tribe,who indicated interest in filling the position. Mr. Mills will follow <br /> up. The Commission is also in need of a property owner from the District. It was suggested that the <br /> vacancies be announced at the Hearing to generate more interest and perhaps be printed in a newspaper <br /> article. <br /> The Commission ended discussion and took a 10-minute break until the Public Hearing <br /> scheduled for 5 p.m. <br /> Public Hearing: <br /> The Public Hearing concerning the Historic District Design Guidelines and Commission <br /> Regulations opened at 5 p.m. Chairman Gurney read the Public Hearing Notice which appeared in the <br /> newspaper on May 30 and June 6. Ms. Gurney asked if anyone would like to address the Commission. <br /> 1 <br />
