The Board of Selectmen received comment from the
following individuals;
J. R. Mell a 36 year resident of the Town of Mashpee indicated he feels very strongly and supportive
of the technical school and the amazing experience it has to offer. Mr. Mell stated the projected
$35,000 cost per student in a technical school education is an investment in the future workforce on the
Cape. Mr. Mell indicated he is objecting to the perception that Mashpee is trying to dictate the cost of
the school. The Board of Selectmen was asked take into account the benefits of the school and what
the school has done for the Town. It was noted that other towns such as Barnstable are praising the
new school, and are supportive of the cost whatever the outcome.
