6 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> May 15, 2017 <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> Discussion of current board/committee vacancies: <br /> The Board of Selectmen reviewed the current list of committee/board vacancies. It was agreed <br /> the list of vacancies would be duly advertised, and to promote awareness of Town boards and <br /> committees,the Board agreed to consider re-printing the Town Boards &Committees pamphlet <br /> previously distributed. To foster volunteerism,the Selectmen discussed sponsoring a volunteer day <br /> at Town Hall, arranging hours of meeting times, and possibly instituting the sunset clause and/or <br /> combining committees that may have quorum difficulties. It was determined the Town Manager <br /> would strategize to stimulate board and committee volunteerism. <br /> Acceptance of resignation from the Council on Aging, Jack Jordan: <br /> Correspondence was received from Jack Jordan dated April 29, 2017 resigning from the <br /> Council on Aging. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Sherman to accept the resignation of Jack Jordan from the <br /> Council on Aging with regret sending a letter of appreciation to Mr.Jordan for his dedicated <br /> service to the Town of Mashpee. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman O'Hara. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Selectman Gottlieb,yes Selectman Cahalane,yes Selectman O'Hara,yes <br /> Selectman Cotton,yes Selectman Sherman,yes Opposed,none <br /> LIAISON REPORTS <br /> Schools: It was reported the School Committee has supported the hiring of an Assistant Superintendent. <br /> ADJOURNMENT <br /> Motion made by Selectman Sherman to adjourn at 6:49 p.m. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman O'Hara. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Selectman Gottlieb,yes Selectman Cahalane,yes Selectman O'Hara,yes <br /> r Selectman Cotton,yes Selectman Sherman,yes Opposed,none <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> Kathleen M.
