TOWN OF MASHPEE PLANNING BOARD
A meeting was held at Mashpee Town Hall on
Wednesday, July 21 , 1971 , at 8:00 P.M.
Members in attendacne:
Earle Marsters , Chairman
Arthur Koch
Joseph Delaney
Richardson Jonas
Absent: Thomas Saunders
Mr. William Nye submitted a definitive plan for
Frank Elkins for a subdivision off Route 28 west of Noisy
Hole Road. The public hearing will be hale on August 18,
1971 . A check for $66.00 was received. Changes requested on
the preliminary plan were met with the exception of increas-
ing the diameter of the turnabouts at 60, which will be done
prior to the public hearing.
Mr. Vincent Porciello of Ockway Bay Estates re-
questioned a copy of the letter which disapproved his subdivision .
He also inquired about two-family houses and was told that
they were not allowed in the town. Note: Copy of the letter
was sent to Mr. Porciello, 11 Grant St. , Woburn, Mass, 01801 ,
August 2, 1971 .
Mrs. Leonard Peck appeared with Mr. William Nye and
presented a plan for "Approval Not Required" for roads off
Shoestring Bay. The Planning Board recommended that road pro-
files and drainage be submitted at the next meeting.
The Conservation Commission appeared at the meeting to
discuss the LaTouche subdivision which abutts the Mashpee River.
They recommended an easement along the river to prevent any
filling or building within a certain distance of the river. The
Planning Board will insist on a contour layout of the subdivision
and the distance of the easement will be determined from the
contour. The conservation Commission will attend the public hearing
to submit the easement.
