t - Cemetery Commission August 8, 2011 Members present: Ernest Virgilio, Michael Scirpoll Others: Catherine Laurent The meeting was opened at 4:00 p.m.. Great Neck Woods Landscaping and Irrigation Irrigation has been installed along the front fence and at the entrance. There is also irrigation ire the I-ands ape beds in Section D. The Committee discussed removing the evergreen shrubs at the entrance and creating a perennial garden instead. The tommitteealso approved installing a spot light on the sign. Creat Neck Woods Lighting Conduit Inas been laid around the perimeter of the cemetery and 4 LED pole lights installed. Additional lights can be installed as funding allows and/or as the cemetery expands.. Catherine will get an estimate for installation of lights, per pole. She will also confirm the conduit size. FY11 Expenditures and FY12 Budget The Committee reviewed the F 11 expenditures. Of the $12,000 budget, approximately $5,000 is reserved for improvements. Additional funds could be requested at Town Meeting for specific projects. The Committee discussed expanding the irrigation system. The well has high iron so either tine well would need to be drilled further or a system to prevent staining by the iron would be needed. The Committee also discussed addressing the turning radius at the entrance. A sloped granite curb or a bollard could be placed to prevent trucks from driving off the road. Catherine will confirm the balance of funds from plot sales. She'll bring the list of sales and burials to the next meeting. Meeting Schedule The Committee agreed to meet regularly on the 2 nd Monday of each ,month at 4 pm. The next meeting will be on September 12. The meeting adjourned at : ,p.m..
